The Member of Parliament (MP) for Màdina , Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu, has filed a suit No. C4/05/23 filed at the Adentan High Court on Friday, 24th March, 2023.
According to Hon Sosu, on the morning of Thursday, 23rd March, 2023, Gh News published a news story with the headline; “Madina MP’s Wife And 4 Children Granted US Gov’t Asylum Over Anti LGBTQI Threats.”
In the said publication, Gh News stated that “the wife and four (4) children of our Client were granted asylum status by the US government following alleged threats of harm received by the Human Rights lawyer and his family over his opposition to sections of Ghana’s Anti-Gay Bill”
Hon. Sosu said the publication is false and same was made maliciously without justification and is calculated to injure his hard-earned reputation and exposed him and the family to hatred, ridicule and contempt.
He asked the court among other things to further restrain GH News and all the other Defendants who had widely circulated the news from further publication of the false and defamatory news.
