The Kaneshi District Voury on Monday April 17, 2023, dismissed criminal case against the Renowned Human rights lawyer who doubles as Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina, Hon Francis Xavier Sosu over the alleged breach of public order in the demontration for better roads in the constituency last year.
The acquired and discharged the MP of criminal charges brought against him over his role in the demonstration for better roads for his constituents in the Ayi 𝑴𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒉 -Danfa electoral areas on 25th October, 2021.
He was discharge after the case which was commenced by a criminal summons filed on 2nd November 2021.
The Kaneshie District Court presided over by His Honour Oheneba Kuffour, threw out the case for want of prosecution.

He was charged on three counts of causing unlawful damage contrary to section 172(1)(b) of Act 29, obstruction of traffic contrary to section 9(f) of the Public Order Act and Causing Danger to road users contrary to section 22(a) of the Road Traffic Act, 2004.
The charges were vehemently denied by Hon. Sosu who insisted he was doing his parliamentary duties to hold the government accountable and that he acted within the limits of the law.
This reinforces claims by the Human rights lawyer that the attempted arrest by the police during the demonstration and subsequent attempt to arrest him at his church and the interdiction of his police officer were arbitrary capricious and deliberate attempt by the police to maliciously prosecute him for doing his duties as a sitting member of parliament doing his lawful duty within the limits of the law.
Hon Sosu told Journalists after the court ruling that, his discharge is a clear confirmation of his stance that the Police were behaving contrary to law.
He said he would continued to stand with his people to get the needed development they deserved from the Government.
