Is Dr Bawumia Still a Muslim or now Christian?- Ali Horoya ask

The Greater Accra Regional Zongo Coordinator of the National Democratic Congress( NDC), Ismaila Ali Horoya has challenged Vice President, Dr. Mahammud Bawumia to declare his true region’s faith as to whether he is still a Muslim or now been baptized as a Christian.

According to him, Vice President Bawumia’s recent visits to Churches was out of the ordinary and that such moves defeat his Islamic faith as he claims.

He said even though state leaders could occasionally visit religious bodies, this churches or Mosques to solidarize with them, Bawumia’s recent frequency to Churches as a Muslim is contrary to the teaching of Islam.

Alhaji Horoya made the comments in an interview with EXPRESSNEWSGHANA , in Accra on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

In the view of the NDC Zongo Coordinator, it is either Bawumia is deceiving Muslims or he is mocking Christians.

He said per his understanding, one cannot be a member of two separate religion of belief at the same time.

“As you know, since Dr Kwame Nkrumah regime, our leaders do visit the religious bodies, either Christian or Muslims once a while, as part of building unity and cohesion. That is to say, he or she is playing a craftsmanship role, but I am seeing something different from Dr Bawumia in recent time.

“Now he get up every Sunday and goes to Churches to join worshpers, that is not what we were all taught as Muslims. So the case is either Bawumia is deceiving us that he is a Muslim or he is making a mockery of Christians. Either he belief in Prophet Mohammed or he belief in Jesus Christ, For that is how I am seeing it,” he said.

Alhaji Horoya also expressed concern of Dr Bawumia’s silent on the LGBTQ+ brouhaha ongoing in the country.

He said Dr. Bawumia has has since failed to state his position on whether he is in support of the Bill currently before parliament or not.
