The Member of Parliament for Wassa East, Hon Isaac Adjei Mensah, has called on drivers to observe traffic laws and regulations to avoid road accidents during the Christmas festivities.
In a Christmas message to his constituents, the lawmaker noted that while some circumstances that resulted in road accidents were beyond the control of drivers, most of the accidents were due to drunk driving, unnecessary overtaking, overspeeding, and failure to observe road signs.
He said Christmas and the new year yuletide are periods of merry-making and reaching out to love ones and not time to abuse the road safety regulations, and cautioned drivers to be extra careful.

Hon Adjei Mensah said as a lawmaker he was duty-bound to add his voice to the numerous calls on the need to ensure safety on the roads.
Whilst wishing his constituents a happy yuletide the former Deputy Minister of Roads and
Highways appealed to drivers to show concern for other road users to ensure safety on the roads.
“We need the citizens alive to enable us going into the years ahead to vote for the NDC to remove this government to reduce hardship and to continue to play their roles in socio-economic development,” he said.
